Hidden in plain sight amongst the various tourist destinations of Rajasthan are Jawai hills, the royal state’s best-kept secret. Part of the Aravalli Range of mountains, the bare granite hills are home to leopards along with other wild animals. Formed from volcanic activity over millions of years, the Jawai leopard hills are one of the few places in India where you can spot the majestic big cat roaming around freely during the day time.

Surrounded by the Jawai dam and grasslands, the hills of Jawai offer a scenic setting to spot wildlife in its natural habitat.

The Jawai leopard hills are unique. There is no dense vegetation around, unlike other wildlife reserves in India. The topography of the region makes it a Godsend for wildlife photographers. You can spot leopards and other big game here without too much getting in your way. Despite the sparse flora of the region, it is teeming with all sorts of animals.

At Jawai leopard hills, you can spot striped hyenas, jungle cats, sloth bears, nilgai, and crocodiles. And of course, there are the Jawai leopards, the cave-dwelling big cats of the region. The hills of Jawai also attract a lot of migratory birds. Birdwatchers can spot Asian openbill stork, black ibis, ruddy shelduck, and Oriental Magpie Robin, among other species of birds, here.

Itinerary 

Arrive at Ahmedabad airport. Our representative will be at the airport to receive you and will drive you to Jawai. It is, approximately, a 6-hour drive from Ahmedabad airport to Jawai. After checking-in at the resort, freshen up, have lunch, and get ready for your first game drive into Jawai hills. After the safari, come back to the resort to sit back and relax. Dinner is served at the resort.

We head for an early morning (5 am) safari after a quick cup of tea/coffee. Post the safari, we come back to the resort for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, we head out for our second game drive of the day. We get back to the resort after sunset to relax for the day. Dinner is served at the resort.

We head for another early morning (5 am) drive into Jawai hills. Post the 4th safari of the tour, we come back to the resort for breakfast and bid adieu to the resort around noon. We drive you to Ahmedabad airport for your flight back home.

  • Pick up and drop to Ahmedabad airport/railway station in an AC car.

Cost excludes:

  • Personal expenses such as mineral water, soft drinks, laundry charges, phone calls, tips etc.
  • Camera charges, if any.
  • Any extra meal not mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Anything that is not mentioned in the ‘Cost includes’ section.

Cancellation policy:

  1. Cancellations that happen more than 30 days from the scheduled date, attract a 25% charge. You get 75% of your money back.
  2. Cancellations that happen between 20 and 30 days from the scheduled date, attract a 50% charge. You get half of your money back.
  3. There are no refunds for cancellations that happen less than 20 days from the scheduled date.

Terms and conditions:

  1. Sightings of wild animals can never be guaranteed. Our naturalists bring all their experience into play for big game sightings at Jawai Hills. However, there is always a fair bit of chance involved.
  2. All forms of wildlife viewing by our guests will be in the company of trained naturalists. Every possible care and precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of guests. However, Wildlife Sojourns is not liable for any untoward incidents that may arise during outdoor activities. Furthermore, the company is not liable for wilful or negligible acts by guests during wildlife activities.
